THE FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES TEACHERS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR 2022-2023

(AUSTIN, TX) - The Family and Consumer Sciences Teachers Association (FCSTAT) is pleased to announce the appointment of new members for its 2022-2023 Board of Directors. FCSTAT is the only professional organization dedicated solely to representing family and consumer sciences educators in Texas.

Joining the FCSTAT Board of Directors is Tammy Porter, an FCS Teacher for Harmony ISD and works at Harmony High School.

FCSTAT Board Directors actively promote and encourage membership within the district, region, and state. They act as the liaison between FCSTAT members in their respective districts.

Tammy’s role as a board director gives her the experience and professional development that she  needs to focus on FCS leadership, membership, and to advocate on behalf of FCS professionals.

The mission of the Family and Consumer Sciences Teachers Association of Texas is to contribute to the professional and personal development of member economists and to the betterment of public education in Texas; to expand public knowledge and understanding of family and consumer sciences education and to represent the profession as a whole where the image, expertise and scope of FCSTAT prove useful.

FCSTAT was chartered in 1963 and represents over 3,000 professional family and consumer sciences educators, secondary, post-secondary educators and administrators, cooperative extension educators, retired educators and university students enrolled in Family and Consumer Sciences Education program.
